Specializing in wedding music, Megan has played for over 1000 ceremonies! She is committed to making your event beautiful and memorable by tailoring the music exactly as you envision it. She is able to play almost any song request you have, ranging from classical to today’s hits! Megan offers musical services for any special event and all parts of your wedding day, including prelude and ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception music. You may choose between multiple ensemble options including violin plus backing tracks, solo acoustic violin, an acoustic duet (Megan plus cello, violin, viola, guitar, or trumpet) an acoustic string trio, acoustic string quartet, or violin and saxophone plus backing tracks. Megan is also able to jump in and collaborate with almost any band or ensemble, so if you have a different group in mind, please don’t hesitate to ask!

FAQs

​1) What does my quote include?
All fees covering things such as travel time, sound equipment, sheet music/backtrack purchase, etc. are included in a quote.

A quote for ceremony music is for a ‘standard wedding ceremony.' This includes 20-30 minutes of prelude music as guests arrive, and any ceremony music needed, from processional through recessional and/or postlude song. All prelude+ceremonies are billed as one hour, regardless of ceremony length.

A quote for more than one hour of music (dinner, party, reception, etc.) includes music provided for the agreed upon time, with short breaks every 1-1.5 hours. 

2) What is the difference between acoustic & backing tracks?
Acoustic means with no electronic components. An acoustic ensemble will not be using tracks, microphones, or other equipment, unless a special agreement is made.

Backing tracks/backtracks are instrumental or karaoke tracks (sans vocals) to which Megan plays along for a contemporary radio sound.  See videos for examples.

3) Can I make special song requests?
Absolutely! In addition to selecting from the applicable song list, you may choose a previously agreed upon number of special song requests, typically two new requests per hour. If you would like to make more requests than this, there may be an additional fee in order to acquire the sheet music and/or tracks.

*All special song requests must be made no later than one month prior to the event, unless otherwise agreed upon. This is to ensure that Megan has enough time to learn, arrange, and/or memorize your songs to the best of her ability.*

4) Do I need to provide anything for you on the day of my event?
Seating: Please provide an armless chair for each musician you will be hiring.

Access to power: If sound equipment is being used, an electrical outlet/source must be made available. Megan will provide an extension cord and all necessary sound equipment, unless other arrangements are made. 

Protection from the elements: If the event is outdoors, there must be adequate shade to protect the instruments and sound equipment from the elements. Clients or the venue may provide their own protection, or the client may have Megan provide her own four-poster canopy tent for an additional fee.

5) How do I book you?
To move forward, please either send a form entry on the 'contact' page of this website, or an email to [email protected] containing your event date, venue location, timeline, the music start time, and your choice of ensemble/instrumentation. Megan will then send you a contract for you to return, through mail or email, with a deposit to retain your date!
