Megan is committed to making your event beautiful and memorable by tailoring the music exactly as you envision it. She is able to play almost any song request you have, ranging from classical to today’s hits! Megan offers musical services for any special event and all parts of your wedding day, including prelude and ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception music. You may choose between multiple ensemble options including violin plus backing tracks, solo acoustic violin, an acoustic duet (Megan plus cello, violin, viola, guitar, or trumpet) an acoustic string trio, acoustic string quartet, or violin and saxophone plus backing tracks. However, if you have a different ensemble in mind, don’t hesitate to ask!

FAQs

​1) What does my quote include?
All quotes include all additional fees such as travel time, sound equipment, which Megan provides herself, sheet music/backtrack purchase, etc.

A quote for ceremony music is for a ‘standard wedding ceremony.' This includes 20-30 minutes of prelude music as guests arrive, and any ceremony music needed, from processional through recessional and/or postlude song. All prelude+ceremonies are billed as one hour, regardless of ceremony length.

A quote for more than one hour of music (dinner, party, reception, etc.) includes music provided for the agreed upon time, with short breaks every 1-1.5 hours. See #3 for info on song requests.

2) What is the difference between acoustic and backing tracks?
Acoustic means with no electronic components. This simply means that an acoustic ensemble will not be using tracks, microphones, or other equipment, unless specifically requested. Backing tracks/backtracks are similar to karaoke tracks, to which Megan plays along for a contemporary radio sound.  See videos for examples.

3) Can I make special song requests?
Absolutely! In addition to selecting from the applicable song list, you may choose a previously agreed upon number of special song requests, typically two new requests per hour. If you would like to make more requests than this, there may be an additional fee in order to acquire the sheet music and/or tracks. *All special song requests must be made no later than one month prior to the event. This is to ensure that Megan has enough time to find and arrange your songs to the best of her ability.*

4) Do I need to provide anything for you on the day of, like sound equipment?
Please provide an armless chair for each musician you will be hiring. Megan will provide all necessary sound equipment, unless other arrangements are made. If you choose backing tracks, sound equipment is necessary and will be provided. If you choose an acoustic ensemble, mics and equipment are not necessarily needed. Please let Megan know if you are hiring an acoustic act and are unsure about the volume in your event space. Keep in mind that if equipment is needed, the musicians will need to be positioned near an outlet or extension cord.

5) How do I book you?
To move forward, please either send a form entry on the 'contact' page of this website, or an email to [email protected] containing your wedding date, venue location, part of the day you would like musical services, the music start time, and your choice of ensemble/instrumentation. Megan will then send you a contract for you to return (through mail or email) with a deposit to retain your date!
